Rankings only mean something if everyone on them earned their place. SteamForge follows the Unified Achievement Hunting Rules, the shared standard used by Steam Hunters, completionist.me, Exophase, MetaGamerScore and TrueSteamAchievements.
Not allowed
Tools that unlock or relock achievements directly — Steam Achievement Manager (SAM) and anything like it. Save files that aren’t your own. Trainers, Cheat Engine, or modified game code. Letting someone else earn achievements on your account.
Fine
In-game glitches and exploits, save-scumming with your own saves, boosting sessions and being carried in multiplayer, autoclickers for monotonous tasks, and changing your system clock for date-specific achievements. Play the game however you like — just play it.
How detection works
Every sync checks the unlock times and playtime Steam reports for each game: a game 100%’d in under five minutes, a whole game’s achievements earned inside an hour with zero minutes played, or nearly every unlock landing within the same minute. Hidden playtime on its own is never a flag, and giveaway games that hand every owner the full list are ignored. One flagged game proves nothing — offline sessions and retroactive grants look like this too — so a profile is only flagged when 3or more games trip the checks, and a human reviews it before it’s confirmed.
What unranked means
Nothing is deleted. An unranked profile stays online and keeps syncing; it simply stops counting: no leaderboard position, no world or country rank, and no contribution to any game’s owner counts, perfect counts, median completion times or difficulty.
Appeals
If you’ve completed a clean-up and appeal through the Steam Hunters / 100Pals ticket process described in the Unified Rules, let us know and your profile is marked cleared on its next sync. Think a flag is simply wrong? Tell us which games — we’ll look at the same data you can see on your profile.
